Suman Paneru received his Bachelor of Architecture from Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Engineering and is Founder & Managing Director of SPArchitects & Engineers—a design-build construction firm that has executed a variety of residential and commercial projects in Kathmandu, Nepal. While at IOE, he was an organizer for the 15th ASA and Norwegian Architectural Exhibitions and conducted several academic research projects which include: Construction Delays in Nepal – Causes & Effects, Health & Safety Issues for Female Laborers in Nepal, A Study of Cost-Effective Housing – An Approach towards Improving Local Technology and A Study of the Tamang Architecture of Dhunche. He was also an Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software instructor at the Pro-Tools Center for Engineers and a Lecturer at the Asian Institute of Technology and Management. A committed humanitarian, he has engaged local NGOs in Kathmandu to assist him in building ramps for the physically-disabled around key locations in the city and commenced work in controlled demolitions and building structure analysis after the devastating earthquakes that recently struck his country. This fall, he has begun pursuing a Masters in Construction Management at Bowling Green University where he received a full scholarship.
